Description
When Arbites launched I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to play melee frontliner while building mostly dog, or that I'd have to take the Lone Wolf passive. Thankfully, I was proven wrong.
This build is a simple, all rounder build tested on Damnation with conditions like Inferno + Shocktroop Gauntlet, situations where I was isolated for long periods of time. While I cant speak for player skill, I as a previous zealot main was able to defend myself just fine with no support with some pressure.
Some explanations and suggesitons:
- Captstone is mostly for the low commitment nature. You get the kill, you get cool bonuses. If you don't, your team is actually on the ball for once. (In theory.) But we take the crit passive to synergize with Scattershot for clearing mass gunner/shotgunner spam. If you think you can live without it, feel free to take the first upgrade for Break the Line
- Most of the damage bonuses we take are melee but we have decent ranged capability. Arbites shotguns are nasty, especially when they wideshot and hit multiple people. You'll clear hallways but don't underestimate the rampage when you get a Execution Order kill. If you're safer and more effective blasting from range, don't rush into melee. But don't fear it either, you've got 200 toughness.
- A slight problem with Unleashed Brutality is it can encourage the dog to target Poxbursters. It wont pin them, just push them. And it can push them toward you by the time it registers it needs to attack the target. If this happens often, consider taking that point off and puting it into Break the Line is a fantastic choice.
- Remote Detonation isn't likely to be used as often if you cant ping a target in the middle of a pack of elites, but it's still useful. If you cant see the dog and haven't given it a specific order, it's usually behind you which makes it a good panic button. Otherwise, it's good to stagger bosses.
- Branx Mk VI Shock Maul and Suppression Shield the special on this weapon is a wide flash that staggers and suppresses. It charges over time and on taking block damage. If you're overwhelmed by shooters out of melee, you can activate the flash while blocking. Branx Mk III Arbites Shock Maul is also a solid option which I've been using lately, for pure damage.
