Description
Overview
There are no talent modifications I would readily offer to this build beyond taking Out for Blood into One Motion instead of Confirmed Kill and Covering Fire. Covering Fire's impact and uptime is unproven and needs further testing - but I believe in it :)
I would not remove Fully Loaded as it allows you to more freely activate Agile Engagement and Covering Fire
Focus Target
Focus Target! is in my opinion the absolute strongest option for Veteran. It provides up to 30% bonus damage to bosses for your entire team, as well as 5-30% damage on individual crushers or other targets. Notably you can feel its impact when trying to eliminate ranged Reapers or Gunners. This is before even getting into the near constant rolling +15% damage for your entire team.
However, Focus Target is all predicated on you being willing to routinely and smartly ping targets. I have my ping rebound to C for ease of use. If you do not want to ping targets, this build is not for you.
Weapons
Achlys Mk VI Power Sword Is the obvious havoc choice. It requires no unique talents to enable its already outstanding performance.
Godwyn-Branx Mk IV Bolt Pistol is an excellent weapon by itself and also serves as our mobility. Do not sleep on Lethal Proximity 's effect on Krak grenades. Psykanium testing with unit spawning shows it makes a difference. Even one Crusher collateral is a significant change in outcome.
I would not humor M35 Magnacore Mk II Plasma Gun or Locke Mk IIb Spearhead Boltgun in this build as it is a direct nerf to Krak effectiveness and makes Agile Engagement activation more difficult.
In Practice
Typical Veteran priorities apply - kill Flamers and Bombers above all else. Aim to keep Agile Engagement (and Covering Fire ) uptime as high as possible when the situation calls for it. Bolt Pistol can easily one tap trash enemies without headshot. On Agile Engagement activation, target getting 2 cycles out of Powersword then repeat the process.
Fully Loaded should easily allow you to be liberal with ammo. This includes dumping bolt pistol into monstrosities when safety is necessary AND activating Agile Engagement when there are no one shottable targets around.
Be very careful with Krak Grenade usage. Every time you throw one at three grenades left, you should ask yourself three questions:
- Is there a high risk someone on my team will DIE if I do not throw this Krak Grenade ?
- How much time is left on Demolition Stockpile ?
- Is there a high quantity of Elites or Specialist my teammates will kill soon that could activate Demolition Team ?
I personally would not suggest using Krak Grenade on Twins unless the situation is dire. Tracking to these targets seems inconsistent
