Description
Build Alternative :
- You can swap out Go again with Valuable Distraction if you desire more damage on stagger. Do keep in mind that Go Again is your only source of Cooldown regeneration in the build outside of curios as you aren't running Bruiser. Not taking Go again will directly impact how much you can use Loyal Protector
- You can swap out Dominate for Toughness Boost ( 25 ) or Too Stubborn to Die if you desire more Tankiness. I would advise ever doing so against Rotten Armour as Rending becomes crucial. You can also exchange it with For the Lil'Uns for more team support.
- Too Stubborn to Die is as good as Delight in Destruction, it is more effective on an stable basis ( under it's effect ), but will not bit Delight in Destruction as soon as you start handling a horde. Too Stubborn to Die also won't save you from heavy gunner fire on it's own. Choose what you prefer.
- All 3 blitz have there ups and downs, but do keep in mind that you won't be able to invest 2 points for your blitz in this build. Big Friendly Rock will give you much needed distance managment and benefit greatly the grenade economy of your team with constant self regen, a strong choice when a hive scum is on your team. Frag Bomb became much stronger since the change, even with barely any significant Carapace armor damage to speak with, it's staggering ability paired with one shotting every human size enemy in it's explosion radius will make it a great choice even in Rotten armor mission. Bombs Away! will give the best staggering ability and most consistent horde clearing ability ( considering you get 3 whole grenades ), yet not being able to get Bigger Box of Hurt hurt this grenade badly and make it a lesser choice.
- The Lorenz Mk V Kickback can be replaced with the Gorgonum Mk IIIa Heavy Stubber or the Lorenz Mk VI Rumbler depending of your preference. The Lorenz Mk V Kickback have better ammo economy than the Lorenz Mk VI Rumbler for a worse damage output against hordes. Meanwhile the Gorgonum Mk IIIa Heavy Stubber will have better accuracy for worse horde clear and smoothness of use.
- You can swap Terrifying Barrage for Surgical if desired. Sadly, this build won't sustain Blaze Away, going up to more than 1 stack being barely possible and hurting actively your ammo usage. ( you're not a Point-Blank Barrage build )
Strength :
- You are extremeley good at staggering anything but monstrosities ( outside of Loyal Protector ) with Impactful + Crunch! + Slam, and amazing at dealing very heavy single target damage with Thrust and Headtaker making you a reliable Heavy melee fighter and horde staggerer / clearer ( using the push attack followed by one heavy; which itself is sustained by the stamina regen of Slam ).
- Loyal Protector protector will give your team valuable space, keep your toughness high once active and allow you to maintain enemies in front of you, which makes weakspot hits easier.
- Frag Bomb will allow you to get out of otherwise sticky situations, and allow some clutching capabilities.
- While theLorenz Mk V Kickback lacks raw damage, it does have amazing staggering ability and decent horde clear with a large ammo poul. ( for an Ogryn. ) Allowing you to easily stagger Crusher if needed, or support your team with mid range clearing and suppresion. ( especially against Reaper )
- Your boss damage against boss monstrosities and Captains is amazing ( given you hit the weakspot ) while maintaining constent heavy attack with full stacks of Frenzied Blows. Your light attack spam is also a good option against captain shields.
- Even without using Big Friendly Rock, your melee allow you to dispatch Mutant quicker which would otherwise be somewhat of a problem.
Weakness :
- You are squishier than a typical ogryn. You aren't using the Orox Mk II & Mk III Battle Maul & Slab Shield, Stay Close! or Feel No Pain while keeping a slower approach to melee combat with heavy attack spam. This combined with the usual weakness of ogryns against gunners will make your survivability more of an issue than it would be otherwise.
- Scab Trapper, Pox Hound and Scab Sniper are still the bane of your existence, even more so that you are actively encouraging a slower gameplay without the typical tankier builds.
- While taking the benefits of Frag Bomb into consideration, and even in teams in which you are the only one on grenade pick up, you still only have a singular " get out of jail " free card at your disposal. This will ask of you more comprehension of when to use it, and why.
- As much as you will give your team a reliable staggerer and heavy single target damage frontliner, your survivability is almost completely tied to your team being alive. You will do seamlessly while the team is alive, but will have a harder time clutching a situation where everybody died ( even more so than the typical ogryn ).
Conclusion:
A Specialized build that is great at taking care of Rotten Armor situation or Carapace armor / bosses generally, but will require more understanding of the class and carefulness than the usual.
A bubble psyker might be needed more than ever for this big guy.
It is undeniably fun. Very much not meta ( no Orox Mk II & Mk III Battle Maul & Slab Shield nor Lorenz Mk VI Rumbler and using the Lorenz Mk V Kickback ) but will work greatly in havoc 30+ without issue.
I encourage you to try it out and tell me what you think ! ;)
