Description
This build essentially gives up its ability in order to spam Noospheric Command at will for easy ranged damage/kills. Because Noospheric triggers its effect even when you have 0% capacitance and no charges, we can simply ignore capacitance generation altogether and spend our skill points on other things. We still have the default ability Voltaic Expander to provide AoE electrocution, but this will only be usable at the start of combat, before we burn our capacitance.
Giving up your ability may sound drastic, but having permanent Noospheric uptime is equivalent to a strong ability and also enables fighting multiple enemies simultaneously or dealing higher DPS to a single target. Overall, I think this is one of the strongest Skitarii builds currently in the game, although it relies on good positioning and is more vulnerable to getting cornered compared to a Chordclaw build.
To play this build optimally, you should have an enemy double-pinged at all times when possible during combat. To make this easier, I recommend setting "Companion Target Tag" to "Press Once" under Options > Input > Tagging Wheel. Just be careful not to ping poxbursters near yourself or teammates when using the "Press Once" setting. Artificer Servo-Skull kills count as ranged kills for talents, so we will easily maintain stacks of Threat Detection Imperative, Superior Defence Engrams, Hybrid Combat Covenant, and Galvanic Marking Array. You'll want to initiate combat by activating your ability after moving into range of enemies, in order to get value from whatever capacitance charges have recovered during downtime.
Melee weapon can be whatever you want. I chose the Branx Mk XI Paired Transonic Blades because they're reasonably effective against all targets, have good base cleave, and have good crit chance for triggering Electro-Strike Conduit and (by extension) electrocution-related effects like System Shock, Entropic Transfer, and Weakness Analysis Doctrine. Artificer Servo-Skull and Noospheric Command give Superiority stacks while the melee weapon is held, so Superiority should have good uptime; alternatively, you can take Riposte, Perfect Strike, or Rampage instead of Superiority. Other good weapons for the build include Branx Mk III Arc Maul with Enhanced Voltaic Arcs and Execution or Catachan Mk VI Combat Blade with Riposte and Flesh Tearer. Depending on your choice of weapon, you may want to move a couple points around for better cleave or damage breakpoints. If using the knife, you probably want a +3 stamina curio as well.
Branx Mk IV Arc Rifle is best-in-slot for this build. We don't need a specialist-sniping weapon because Noospheric Command will be used to pick off the majority of specialists, apart from Snipers at long-range. The Arc Rifle allows us to quickly stack brittleness with System Shock on groups of elites and rapidly kill them with chaining arc damage. It also has decent boss/monstrosity damage and good ammo efficiency. Its reload is slow even with 80% Reload Speed stat, so most of the time you'll want to swap to melee and let Gunsmith reload for you. Reload Speed is the dump stat because you only lose 5% speed at 60% vs. 80% stat, and you'll rarely reload manually anyway.
This build is heavy on defense. With all buffs active, it has up to 69.5% toughness damage reduction, 40.5% health damage reduction, 90% corruption resist, and permanent stun immunity. It also recovers up to 23.5% toughness/second, 5% instant toughness per weakspot kill, and up to ~7.1 flat toughness/second from Resurgence while in full team coherency, and twice as much when not being targeted in melee by enemies. This is equivalent to 3.4% max toughness/second with 3x17% toughness curios in Auric and lower difficulties, and an even higher percentage in Havoc due to the variable toughness penalty there.
This build uses toughness regen speed perks on its curios because of the synergy with Resurgence. You can optionally use a different aura, and if so you'll want to swap these for a different curio perk like revive speed, gunner resist, or health. I usually recommend revive speed on curios, but I think it's optional when you have Medicae Servo-Skull. You can swap one of the +17% toughness curios for +3 stamina or +21% health in you prefer.
If you want more melee damage, you can path through Hydraulic Impact instead of Adaptive Combat Engram. Kinetic Energy Distributors is a flex point that can be moved wherever you want, such as Ammunition-Restoration Pod, Overcharge Transfer Lattice, Retribution Conduit, Shockline Breach Protocol, Adaptive Combat Calibration, Evasive Servo Recovery, Sureshot Cogitator Sync, Residual Current Buffer, or Purgator Servo-Skull.
