The pickaxes got a range buff and they're amazing.

The Karsolas at its base is already an amazing horde weapon so we can build it for high priority targets with a little flexibility. On full stacks of Heavy Hitter, Headtaker, and Slaughterer you should be 2-shotting Crushers, Maulers, Mutants, and Ragers with heavy spam. Flak and Maniac aren't bad perks but are perhaps best suited if you won't have the power boost of either Headtaker or Slaughterer.

Mk 5 Ripper is Ogryn's best gun for its sniping capability and burst damage in a pinch. Always hipfire and learn to QQ cancel to reset its recoil.

Pickaxe Pro-tips (TM):

• The hook special! Very versatile. You should use it for the stagger alone but it also builds Hard Knock stacks and sets up an overhead follow-up. If you have multiple elites on you, juggling them with hooks and overheads may be an option. Hooked enemies also take 10% extra damage from all players for 5 seconds before effects like Soften Them Up.
• Slide to close gaps with your heavies.
• Helped by the range buff, heavy spam is usually safe as a mixed horde combo, but don't be ashamed to mix in lights and pushes and push attacks to give yourself some breathing room if necessary.
• Against bosses, if you have aggro and are actively being swiped at, the safe play is to block and dodgeslide until it's safe to land H1s. The aforementioned 10% damage debuff on hook can be useful here when you and your teammates are wailing on them.
